Two More New Papers!

After thoroughly enjoying myself presenting and discussing two recent papers, I’ve continued to dig and think about a range of theological topics. I’m excited to be presenting two more bits of thinking at two very different conferences.

Firstly, next month, I’m looking forward to be speaking about ancient heresy in the capital of the modern world. I’ve been invited to present ‘The Pneumatochian Heresy: The Wild Goose, the Charismatic/Pentecostal Movement and the border-crossing role of the Holy Spirit‘ at the third international (And, given that it is the first conference held outside of North America) Conference of The International Society for Heresy Studies. I’m looking forward to delving into this, and posing some questions that I hope will challenge the wider church.

Next year, in 2019, I’m deeply honoured to be preparing to present a short communication at the first conference of the International Orthodox Theological Association (IOTA). This is a conference that has been years in the making, and also represents a serious embodiment of my passion for unity between churches. I’m excited to be taking part as a member of the Vineyard movement – whilst also being aware of the difficulties of what that might mean. My paper is called “What hath Anaheim to do with Antioch? Steps in a Vineyard/Orthodox Theological Dialogue”, and I’m excited to explore what this might mean.

Do please pray for me as I and my wife continue to explore what my presenting of papers and being involved in conversations might mean, long term. We are excited about both of these – and also look forward to hearing what God has to say about what’s next.
